A friend remodeled and took out an FMI LaCosta 42E fireplace and gave it to me. I want to have it installed in my home (there is no existing fireplace). It is a woodburning fireplace but was only used for gas logs. I have a set of Monessen vented gas logs that I planned to use.
Is there any reason that I am not aware of, that this would not work? I need to find someone to install the fireplace, and safety is my 1st concern.
I'm reading about gas inserts being more efficient and providing heat that gas logs would not. I'm now wondering if I should go with a gas. I guess I'm just looking for sound advise, tips, etc.
