I just had a chimney sweep company tell me the flue on our prefab fireplace was broke and I asked about replacing the prefab fireplace. He said it would cost thousands of dollars because they would have to tear out the surrounding wall. Behind this wall is a bedroom closet with the back of the fireplace enclosed with paneling. Couldn't it be pulled out & replaced there for cheaper?
