I have had my propane system since Dec/01. It seemed to work ok except sometimes it would to hesitate to fire up,pressure at 12wc. It was recommended to be 11 to 13 wc. In Dec /07 I noticed some graying at top of wall height. Keep in mind that Iam very avid as to keeping unit clean ,detail vacumed logs, burner and firebox at the beginning of season and 1 or 2 times each month. I did exactly as manual explained and even contacted service from where unit was purchased and was told that is what they would do, so save some money ,that I could do this myself.

I contacted manfacture, explained my problem and was told that they were having problems with this system. They asked me to look inside my firebox and see if I seen black circle on back log,I did,and they sent me new designed log's. The manual calls for a certain position for logs or possible sooting would occure. this was done 2 other times. I had service department come out to check unit. They tweeked up pressure, did not clean unit as service described, within a coupleof weeks my whole interior was sooted up. Manufacture told that series of logs had to be turned up side down to cleaned but this step is not known by service reps who are to service units or is it described this way in manual. Point of this is I can not believe there is not a saftey mechanism on these units to shut off if pressure is to low or to high or a problem like sooting until damage is done. People are breathing this, and you don't know until damage is done.I would like to hear from all who has had this problem from vent free logs. Also this room is 26x40 with 20' ceilings. No candles, smoking, air freshener's

Please repley a.s.a.p
